What Type of Website Suits You?

There are several types of websites and it's important to choose the type that best suits your particular needs.
The most common is standard HTML
(Hypter
Text
Markup
Language).
This type of site is built by your web developer and, unless you want to learn the special coding, your developer will also have to do updates for your website.
Macromedia Flash is a showy, programming-intensive type of website that, in my opinion, is best suited for media (television, radio, film) or entertainment-related sites. It takes additional time to load and many Internet browsers don't like waiting! Flash requires that a special program be downloaded to the viewer's computer in order to be seen. This can reduce the number of visitors who view your website.
A third type of site is the database. Most databases have to be custom built to meet a specific website's needs. This can cost thousands of dollars in programming and is beyond the financial capability of most small businesses.
However, Newport Internet has developed a database system which allows small businesses to have a database site without the high cost. These sites can easily be updated by the website owner without knowing any programming code and save money on maintenance.
The costs of hosting a database site at Newport Internet is $25 a month, or $30 a month for sites using their shopping cart system.
I recommend this type of website for any business interested in keeping their website current at a reasonable price.
